In Astrophysics, US, videos on September 30, 2012 at 11:05

Google Street View captured two identical unidentified objects in Jacksonville,Arizona,US.

At both locations the same object appears in the sky hovering over the street and was first pointed out to ABC News affiliate KLTV in East Texas by Andrea Dover who noticed the first UFO while using Google Maps to get directions.

The red orb-like shapes are visible to all users of the application online at Jacksonville in Texas and at the Sky City Casino Hotel on 32 Indian Service Route 30, Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico.

Already Theories are out to say that the objects are nothing but ?t the orbs are in reality are sun glare from the camera or the reflected arches of a McDonald?s restaurant.?!

Mom Glen's Journal: Personal Injury Law Firm

No matter how careful you are with your life, there is always something and someone that would mess with you. Accidents and misfortunes are often part of every person?s life. Whether we like it or not, the only option we have is to accept it and be prepared when it happens. As the natural order of the universe, adversities usually happen when we least expect it. Injuries can happen wherever and whenever we are so we should be ready at all times.

Preparation should not only be limited to our very own self but also with other important things that surrounds us. It somehow pays to know somebody who is knowledgeable about legal matters. It can give us the sense of comfort if we know an important person who can help us in case we needed one just like people from BooneAndDavis.com. Reading about what they do and what they can do can give people a sigh of relief knowing that they are there to help with the personal injury claims.

The law is such a broad matter for an ordinary citizen to understand that is why Boone and Davis exist to represent people when fighting for their claims. It is the right of every individual to demand or collect damages if wrongful action has been committed against them. Personal injury claims does not only covers physical injury per se but physiological injury as well. The law was created to protect the welfare of every individual and whoever breaks the law should rightfully pay for it.

How I Create: Q&A With Career Coach Michelle Ward - Psych Central

How I Create: Q&A With Career Coach Michelle WardWhat do you want to be when you grow up? That?s the question Michelle Ward, the When I Grow Up Coach, helps her clients answer. Ward is certified by the International Coach Federation. She?s spent over 750 hours coaching hundreds of creative people to devise the career they think they can?t have ? or discover it in the first place.

She?s also a musical theater actress with her BFA from NYU/Tisch. And she?s one of the most creative and passionate people I?ve had the pleasure of meeting online. Ward infuses everything she does with creativity and her enthusiastic one-of-a-kind approach.

Below, in our monthly series, Ward shares the behind-the-scenes of her creative process, how she overcomes the comparison trap, her powerful advice for readers and much more.

Ward also has served as an expert source and contributor for publications such as?Newsweek and Forbes and websites such as Yahoo!?and?AOL Jobs. She?s spoken at?SXSW, The World Domination Summit?and?Etsy Success Symposium.

She?can be found coachin?, bloggin? & givin? away free stuff at whenigrowupcoach.com.

1. ?Do you incorporate creativity-boosting activities into your daily routine? If so, what activities do you do?

You might wanna slap me for saying this, but I feel like everything I do centers around doing it creatively. I?ve built my business on writing and making videos and speaking and playing my pink ukulele?so every time I decide to work on something, I think about what I want to express and how. I wrote/filmed/edited a music video for?my communty site.

When I put my career change exercises into?workbook?form, I decided to make the whole freakin? thing (yes, all 50+ pages) rhyme.

When I offered? An Effective Escape: Leaving Your Day Job Without Living in Your Parents? Basement?for the first time, it was as a virtual workshop. I?m usually doing something around speaking, singing, or writing? but not in a do-a-creative-exercise-every-day way.

2. ?What are your inspirations for your work?

It depends on what I?m working on, but the things that are popping into my head? Dr. Seuss,?Cee Lo Green,?Garfunkel & Oates, Cee Lo Green, stuff from my childhood (I so wanna write a Choose Your Own Adventure Book!), Jessica Swift, Color Me Katie, Danielle LaPorte, Alexandra Franzen, my clients, Broadway?.oh, I?ll stop there now.

3.?There are many culprits that can crush creativity, such as distractions, self-doubt and fear of failure. What tends to stand in the way of your creativity?

The Comparison Vampire! Oh, I call the voices we have in our heads that suck the good stuff outta us Vampires, and The Comparison Vampire tends to be the worst of all.

Look at how professional?her?videos are. Look at how perfect?his copy is. Blech. It makes you wanna just throw in the towel and never write another word or speak another sentence or pluck another tune ever again.

4.?How do you overcome these obstacles?

I think a big part of it is being confident and authentic in what you?re doing. Sure, his copy might be ?perfect? and her videos might be ?professional,? but mine are 100 percent Michelle at all times, and I?m proud of what I produce.

I?m all there, singing or speaking or writing my heart out, and I?m confident that what I put out into the world represents my uniquity, my perspective, and my knowledge. Let?s face it: They?re not better than you, They?re?different. Two separate things.

5. ?What are some of your favorite resources on creativity?

Anything that Keri Smith puts out is worth picking up and working through. It looks easy on the surface to follow her exercises (i.e. smear food on this page of the book, tie a string around the book and take it for a walk, etc.), but actually confronts our Vampires and can be a great (yet scary!) learning experience.

I also recommend the Right Brain Business Plan?to any and all creative entrepreneurs (I have one!), aspiring or otherwise. The Artist in the Office is also a must for those of us barely surviving our day jobs, and nothing beats The Artist?s Way for tapping into your inner creative.

6. ?What is your favorite way to get your creative juices flowing?

For writing, I keep tons of images with inspiring sayings on a Pinterest board, and that?ll be my first stop if I need something to write about. For my songs, I tend to have an idea as to what I wanna sing about (it?s recently been about my?boob cancer, oddly enough), and then rhymes come to me on the subway, when I?m about to fall asleep, or in the shower. I always have my iPhone handy to take notes.

7. ?What?s your advice for readers on cultivating creativity?

Don?t wait for lightening to strike or the perfect moment where inspiration knocks you over ? because it often doesn?t happen that way. Instead, show up to do the work and start wherever feels easiest.

Sometimes I start a blog post in the middle because the beginning just won?t come to me. Sometimes I write a song with the chorus leading the way because the verses are elusive. Do something every day for a small bite of time (yes, you can?get a lot accomplished in 15 minutes a day, thankyouverymuch) and you?ll be able to have a tangible product in no time.

Also, don?t be married to the format. Sometimes I know I need to write a blog post, but writing feels hard in that moment?so I make a video instead. Pay attention to what feels fun and easy at the time, and know if you move forward with that it?s not cheating.

8. ?Anything else you?d like readers to know about creativity?

Wanna know a secret? You?re creative. You might not believe me, but it?s true! We all have it in us?just start believing that I?m talking to you when I mention ?creative people,? start exploring in a fun and easy way, and you?ll be able to own that title more than you think!

IGT defend DoubleDown gamble - Online Gambling News

USA flag 1International Game Technology CEO Patti Hart has defended their big money purchase of social gaming firm DoubleDown Casino. Hart, speaking to the Las Vegas Review-Journal at the IGT HQ, said the $500million acquisition could eventually be ?the best investment? the firm has ever made. She added: ?It?s a big sticker price, but that?s what it takes to play. We believe we structured the deal completely appropriately. That allowed us to retain the management team. In the Seattle office, there has been almost zero turnover. That?s unheard of in previous IGT deals.?

IGT is putting most of their eggs in the DoubleDown basket after they decided to get out of the online poker game by letting go of the former Entraction network last month.

North America?s major sports leagues have again drawn the ire of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie this time at a regional town hall meeting. Press of Atlantic City report that Christie was questioned on sports betting and reiterated his desire to bring betting to certain parts of the state.

?I would like to see it sent to Atlantic City and Monmouth racetrack to bring revenue to the city and the state. If it is monitored and controlled, it will be good for the people in New Jersey and the industry,? Christie said.

As for the major sports leagues and NCAA, he called them ?hypocritical? in that they know that unregulated and ?illegal? sport betting is already going on ?every day?. The row has already reached boiling point and fellow New Jersey politican Senator Raymond Lesniak has been stoking the fire for a while now with the latest from Christie showing that the tide is not relenting.

Three more firms will hear their Nevada online poker licence fate next week with Boyd Interactive, Fertitta Interactive and Golden Nugget all on the agenda at the gaming board?s next meeting. The three companies have applied for online poker operator licences and will see applications go before the Nevada Gaming Control Board on October 3-4. If they are successful their names will be added to a list that includes three licenced operators and a further seven firms with licences including one affiliate.

This year's flu vaccine guards against new strains

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Time to get your flu vaccine ? and a surprising new report shows babies and toddlers seem to be getting protected better than the rest of us.

Last year's flu shot won't shield you this year: Two new strains of influenza have begun circling the globe, and the updated vaccine appears to work well against them, government officials said Thursday.

Just because last year was the mildest flu season on record doesn't mean the virus might not bounce back to its usual ferocity this winter.

"People cannot become complacent this year," said Dr. Howard Koh, assistant secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, who received his own flu shot Thursday.

A yearly vaccination now is recommended for nearly everybody, but new figures released Thursday show that last year 52 percent of children and just 39 percent of adults were immunized.

Best protected: Three-quarters of tots ages 6 months to 23 months were vaccinated. That's a significant jump from the previous year, when 68 percent of those youngsters were immunized.

But even though seniors are at especially high risk of severe illness or death if they catch the flu, just 66 percent of them were immunized, a number that has been slowly dropping for several years.

Older adults got a little lost in the recent public health push to explain that flu vaccine benefits all ages ? and it's time to target them again, said Dr. Daniel Jernigan, a flu specialist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In contrast, child deaths from flu have made headlines in recent years ? the U.S. counted 34 pediatric deaths last year ? raising parents' awareness of the risk, he said.

The only ones who shouldn't get vaccinated: babies younger than 6 months and people with severe allergies to the eggs used to make the vaccine.

Flu specialists can't say how bad this winter's flu season might be. Influenza strains constantly evolve, and some cause more illness than others.

But strains from the H3N2 family tend to be harsher than some other flu types, and a new H3N2 strain is included in this year's vaccine because it is circulating in parts of the world.

Because of that strain, "I am pretty confident that this year will be a more traditional flu season" than last year, CDC's Jernigan told The Associated Press. "People won't have had any real exposure to that."

Only one ingredient in this year's flu vaccine was retained from last year's, protection against the H1N1 strain that caused the 2009 swine flu pandemic and has been the main kind of influenza circulating since. Also new in this year's shot is protection against a different Type B strain.

Other trends the CDC spotted last year:

?Roughly a third of teenagers got a flu vaccine.

?So did 45 percent of high-risk young and middle-aged adults, those who are particularly vulnerable to flu because they also have asthma, diabetes or any of a list of other health conditions.

?About 47 percent of pregnant women were vaccinated. Women have five times the risk of severe illness if they catch the flu when they're pregnant, and they can require hospitalization and suffer preterm labor as a result. Vaccination not only protects them, but recent research shows it also provides some protection to their newborns as well.

Vaccination rates vary widely among states, too. Nevada vaccinates a third of people who are eligible, while South Dakota reaches 51 percent. In Iowa, 76 percent of seniors get their flu shot, compared to half in Alaska. In Rhode Island, 74 percent of children are vaccinated, compared to 39 percent in Alaska.

Manufacturers are expected to make about 135 million doses of flu vaccine this year, and there are four different forms to choose from:

?The traditional flu shot is for all ages and people with high-risk health conditions.

?FluMist, the squirt-up-the-nose version, is for healthy people ages 2 to 49 who aren't pregnant.

?A high-dose shot is available for people 65 and older.

?And the intradermal shot ? a skin-deep prick instead of the usual inch-long needle ? is available for 18- to 64-year-olds.

The vaccine is covered by insurance, and Medicare and some plans don't require a copay; drugstore vaccination programs tend to charge about $30.

People can be vaccinated anytime, but Jernigan cautioned that it takes about two weeks for protection to kick in. Flu typically starts to appear in October or November, and peaks in January or February.

Also this year, public health groups are urging workers in doctors' offices, hospitals and particularly nursing homes, where patients are especially vulnerable, to do a better job getting vaccinated.

About 67 percent of health care workers were vaccinated last year, a number that's slowly rising. Doctors are the best role models, with about 86 percent immunized. But anyone ? from the receptionist to the person delivering meals ? can spread influenza to patients, and just half of those workers in nursing homes got vaccinated last year, Koh said.

In addition to patient safety, hospitals and clinics need to have enough healthy staff to care for the sick once the flu strikes, said Dr. William Schaffner of Vanderbilt University.

When that happens, "we need to be vertical, not horizontal," he said.

Librarians/Media Specialists and the Common Core ? What's ...

An article from Education Week titled Common Core Thrusts Librarians into Leadership?Role is getting a lot of press and discussion lately in libraryland ? and beyond. The article highlights the important role media specialists can (and should) play as their schools usher in this new phase in education. Namely, media specialists must be prepared to provide the necessary resources and learning opportunities for?implementing?the Common Core State Standards in their schools. The argument is that librarians/media specialists are natural ?inquiry-based? teachers and?practitioners,?and are?perfectly?suited to model this way of thinking to other professionals as well as students. Additionally, the article highlights some of the ways libraries of all types are ?impacted by the Common Core State Standards.

What impact do you see the Common Core State Standards having on your school and in your media center programming? Currently, Minnesota has only adopted the Common Core English Language Arts standards as a base, and has not adopted the Mathematics standards in any way. Since Minnesota has not adopted the Common Core Mathematics standards (citing our state?s superior standards and high testing performance for math), how might this separation or distinction from other states impact math education in the state? On the other hand, Minnesota has adopted the English Language Arts standards as a base, so how are you preparing for those standards in your schools? How are you taking part in this conversation, and what role are you playing in your school?

Additional information for those in the know!?At this time, the NGA [National Governors Association] Center and CCSSO [Council of Chief State School Officers] will not be developing standards in other subjects and are focusing on implementing the standards in ELA and mathematics. However, other groups are working on standards in the arts, world languages, and science. To find out more, visit the section titled? Why are the Common Core State Standards for just English-language arts and math??at?www.corestandards.org/frequently-asked-questions.
